Applications are now open for the third cycle of the Commonwealth Scholarship Commission’s partnership with the Commonwealth Equality Network.
The Commonwealth Master’s and PhD Scholarships offer a fully funded opportunity for people working with or within LGBTI+ communities in low- and middle-income Commonwealth countries to undertake postgraduate study in the UK, with studies beginning in September 2027.
The Commonwealth Equality Network has been invited to nominate 10 candidates for Master’s programmes and 5 candidates for PhD programmes.
These scholarships are designed for individuals committed to advancing human rights, sustainable development and the lives of LGBTI+ people in their home countries. Successful applicants will receive funding including tuition fees, return airfare, a monthly living allowance and other eligible study-related costs.
Applications open: 8 September 2026
Applications close: 20 October 2026 at 16:00 UK time
