1. About this Policy

This Cookie Policy explains how The Commonwealth Equality Network (“we”, “our” or “us”) uses cookies and similar technologies when you visit commonwealthequality.org (the “Website”).

We are a UK‑registered company limited by guarantee (Company No. 09193283) and our registered office is at 7 King’s Yard, 40‑47 Parker Street, London WC2B 5PS, United Kingdom.

2. What are Cookies?

Cookies are small text files that are downloaded to your device when you visit a website. They help the website recognise your device and store some information about your preferences or past actions.

There are different types of cookies:

  • Session cookies are deleted when you close your browser.
  • Persistent cookies remain on your device for a set period or until you delete them.

3. How We Use Cookies

We keep our use of cookies to a minimum. At present we only set cookies provided by Google Analytics 4 (GA4) so that we can understand how people use the Website and make improvements.

We do not use cookies for advertising or to track you across other websites, and we do not collect any information that directly identifies you. We have configured Google Analytics to anonymise your IP address before it is stored or processed.

Cookies whose names include <container‑id> or <property‑id> contain a unique string of letters and numbers that corresponds to our Google Analytics property.

3.2 Legal basis

Because analytics cookies are non‑essential, we only place them after you have given consent via the cookie banner that appears on your first visit. You can withdraw your consent at any time (see Section 4 below).

4. Your Choices

4.1 Using our cookie banner

Click “Manage cookies” at the bottom of any page (in the footer) to review or change your preferences.

4.2 Browser settings

Most web browsers let you refuse, accept, or delete cookies. The “Help” function in your browser will show you how.

4.3 Google Analytics opt‑out

To prevent Google Analytics from using your data on any website, you can install Google’s opt‑out browser add‑on: https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.

5. Changes to this Policy

We may update this Policy from time to time—for example, if we add new cookies or change the way we use them. Any changes will take effect once published on this page. The “Last updated” date above tells you when the Policy was last revised.

6. Contact Us

If you have any questions about our use of cookies, please email tcen.secretariat@kaleidoscopetrust.com or write to us at the address in Section 1.
