Bandhu Social Welfare Society (BANDHU), founded in 1996, is a prominent community-led organisation dedicated to advocating for the rights and well-being of gender-based marginalised populations by addressing human rights, quality healthcare, sustainable livelihoods, social security, and gender justice. BANDHU was registered with the Ministry of Social Welfare (MOSW) in July 1997 and with the NGO Affairs Bureau (NGOAB) in December of the same year.

BANDHU is a pioneering organisation in Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR), committed to delivering HIV/AIDS prevention, legal advocacy, capacity building, and policy reform initiatives to foster systemic change. The organisation focuses on addressing social, religious, cultural, and legal barriers to human rights, particularly for gender-based marginalised populations, who often face significant obstacles in accessing essential services. BANDHU leverages its expertise in public health, rights-based approaches, and strategic partnerships to promote inclusive access to healthcare and social services, while fostering collaboration with key stakeholders to support the well-being of marginalised communities in Bangladesh.
